Spike Lee Comes To The Rescue Of Malcolm X’s Estate?

Spike Lee Comes To The Rescue Of Malcolm X’s Estate?:
The estate of slain civil rights leader Malcolm X reportedly owes $2, 447 to the Manhattan Mini storage company.
Since the amount has been outstanding for quite some time and no one has paid the running tab, the storage powers-that-be are threatening to hold an auction to sell off contents from the unit. When filmmaker Spike Lee got wind of the monies owed, he decided to take care of it himself, reports the New York Post.

“Have them call me; I’ll take care of it,” Lee said at a Grand Classics screening of “Midnight Cowboy” at the famed hotel, the W Downtown, last Thursday. Since Lee co-wrote, co-produced and directed the historic 1992 biopic,”Malcolm X,” starring Denzel Washington, he probably felt compelled to settle the storage company bill.
Well, according to the New York Post’s Page Six column, Lee won’t have to take care of the storage fees after all because the Malcolm X estate plans on paying. The estate also says that the contents inside of the storage unit does not contain anything of value that once belonged to the great Black leader.
Lee is currently on Broadway directing boxing great Mike Tyson in his solo memoir show entitled “Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth.”
